Parent Survey Results

Dear Rohan Woods Community:

Periodic feedback from key stakeholders such as parents, employees, and students is essential for school growth and change. Mechanisms for feedback range from informal conversations, to pulse surveys, to comprehensive questionnaires. Statistical information places emphasis on quantitative data used as a guide for decision making.

In December, our parent population received a comprehensive constituency survey to assist in our strategic planning process initiated by the Board of Trustees. The survey was sent to each parent with questions ranging from our mission, to curriculum, to communications. According to several survey experts, typical response rates range anywhere between 5% to 30%. Almost 25% of our parent population participated in our survey, yielding representation from every class. Every aggregate was analyzed, and individual personal comments were categorized to yield information for planning for the future.

I am pleased to report that the majority of our parents validated we are:

  • Meeting the mission of our school by living respect, responsibility, and leadership
  • Building and maintaining partnerships within our community
  • Preparing our students academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Communicating with parents effectively

The Board of Trustees is in the final stages of creating an updated strategic plan which will be shared with the school community. We are excited about the future of the school and look forward to working in partnership with parents to continue our strong tradition of academic excellence, while preparing our students to become flexible, resilient adults leading the way for change.

All the best,

Sam
