You CAN Make a Difference at Rohan Woods School

Hi Rohan Woods School Parents!

It was so wonderful to see all the returning families and meet the new families at the Back-to-School picnic on Sunday.  I like that our community seamlessly includes and welcomes new families to Rohan Woods School.

Starting a new school can make anyone nervous, including parents.  Although my family is starting its 5th year at Rohan Woods, I will never forget my first day walking through those doors with our son.  What helped me was to get involved in the school.  Whether you have 10 minutes a week or 10 hours a week, we can use you and your help makes a difference.

Over the next few weeks I will be reaching out to each of you to see how YOU can make a difference in the school.  Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents, teachers, staff, and students.  This past year Teacher Appreciation Week was a great example of how parents want to be involved. Parents were needed to help with recess and lunch duty which the students LOVED!    When we began that week, we had 25 additional volunteers because their children "guilted" them into helping.  My point is our kids like to see that we are invested in the school, too.  Whether it's helping set up for Trunk or Treat, making decorations for the auction or Trivia Night, or just attending a class party, our participation shows our children that we, too, love being a part of Rohan Woods School.

I hope to meet each of you very soon and please plan to come to the parent coffee on Tuesday, September 12 – watch BLOOMZ for details.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions, ideas, concerns, etc.  We are all in this together!  Thank you for all of the energy and excitement that each of you bring!  I’m looking forward to an amazing year!!
