During the past month, students have, with the help of the Venezuelan Legend "Tío Tigre y Tío Conejo" ("Uncle Tiger and Uncle Rabbit"):
- describe their house.
- identify the chores they can and cannot do.
- tell what furniture they have in their bedroom.
- compare U.S. homes to Latin- American homes.
In addition to these topics, students focus on affirmation and negation. The most basic affirmation and negation is sí and no. Some other words that show affirmation and negation include algo (something), alguien (someone), nada (nothing), and nadie (no one). Students learn in this unit how to use affirmation and negation words in sentences.
