The time is certainly flying by this year! The Senior Kindergartners are very excited for the season of Spring to begin. The children had a great February and are looking forward to March. Although we have Spring Break in March, the class will be very busy!
During the next two weeks, the students will listen to rhymes, especially connected to Dr. Seuss books. The children will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday all week which is on March 2nd! Dr. Seuss is one of the most beloved children’s authors of all time and his use of rhymes makes his books very effective in promoting the basic skills children need to be successful in reading and in developing a love for reading. The children will celebrate this special day by making a birthday book for Dr. Seuss and partaking in many other exciting activities! This is also perfect timing for the Seniors, as their reading unit is currently- Let’s Read.
In Math, the children are continuing to refine patterning, measuring and graphing skills each day.
In Social Studies, the Seniors will begin to learn about community helpers in the next few weeks.
Reminders:
- Monday is Library Day.
- Report Cards will be emailed on Friday, February 26th, after school.
Have a wonderful, spring-like weekend!
Sincerely,
Kelly Weyand
