Rohan Woods Music is off to a Rockin’ Start!
In lower school classes we’re already doing movement activities in relation to pulse and beat.
Upper school classes have already been issued recorders and have started playing B, A, and G!
The pulse of music or beat creates a resonance within children of natural body rhythms. It is best to experience rhythm than try to explain it at an early age. For young children (EC-SK) that could be as simple as marching to a beat and for many older students and adults you will notice feet tapping subconsciously as music is played.
We are definitely moving to a beat as we develop ways to explore rhythm in Music classes!
