Reading: The students have enthusiastically been reading to earn stamps on their silver Flight Report cards. This is a great group of readers. Last week, the students went book shopping. They had a selection of eight books to preview for the year. They read the back and first few pages of each book. They completed a survey and ranked the books including reasons for preferences. This survey will influence the chosen books for literature units this school year.
Math:
The students have completed beginning of the year assessments to demonstrate prior knowledge. They have had the opportunity to preview many of the math apps on their iPads and are already choosing their favorites! We had a friendly dice competition to review reading, writing, comparing and ordering large numbers. Way to go!
