The beginning of October brings the end of soccer season and the beginning of flag football.
The next two weeks will be filled with plenty of learning. Older students are in full soccer mode, and now have the chance to work on finer details of the game. Communication, back passing, and analyzing our opponents are the details that have resulted in stronger play and more wins during competition.
First and second graders will play the annual Green/Gold Game in early October. Held on the field, in front of a large crowd, the game promises to showcase all of the skills and game knowledge our students have mastered.
Younger students have the opportunity to wear pinnies and play a variety of soccer scenarios that challenge them to dribble, pass and shoot a goal. Most scenarios are built around a favorite theme – animals. We will use our basic footwork skills- dribble, trap, turn, pull-back, and get away touch- as we pretend to save the day!
As soon as we pack away the soccer balls, football will be our focus. We are looking forward to the cooler weather, throw, receiving, and more running!
