Fall is a time for musical memories and songs about changing seasons! Musical experiences will include performing with peers, singing, playing and improvising on instruments, learning recorder notes for upper classes, and creating compositions.
Students from 1st through 4th grades were given an opportunity to visit Powell Hall and hear the world class St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in a special educational concert called “Athletes of the Orchestra! This gave us opportunities to learn families of instruments in the orchestra and work on team building projects.
Mallet Madness has taken control of our Orff instruments including xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels. In this program students are learning how to hold mallets and use proper techniques when playing the barred instruments.
After a successful Grandparents’ Day performance, students are beginning to prepare for the Winter Program which is just around the corner in December!
