December is a busy, busy month in the Middle School. Academically, we are on a roll!
In Language Arts, we are working on our study skills, which we then apply to other areas across the curriculum. In vocabulary and spelling, we continue to expand our understanding of spelling and enrich our vocabulary in order to enhance our skill set. We are using our study skills to analyze information in non-fiction text. From there, we apply these skills to our Project curriculum.
Students in Middle School are researching the impact of plastic straws in our environment, on a local community level, and the world at large. Each individual student has a focus and is a part of a larger group which will seek to find ways to curb the use in our school community. Through our Project curriculum, students will interview professionals in the Rohan Woods community and beyond. They will collaborate with each other to research various solutions. Finally, they will develop and present their ideas to the class and the school community.
Bundle up for a wonderful week!
