As March begins, younger students will tumble, roll and flip into spring. Upper school students wrap up their basketball unit with basketball playoffs in Lunch League, and an Inter-School basketball tournament. Then they begin passing, setting, and spiking on the volleyball court.
Our preschool classes focus on hitting up, hitting over, and using V arms to bump as part of their pre-volleyball skill development. Games include balloon races and Falling Stars. In tumbling, skills highlighted are forward roll, log roll, backward roll, bridges, and bar swings.
Upper school students are developing their overhand serve, accuracy in passing, and hitting. Just for fun games include Battleship, Newcomb, 4-square volleyball, and Serve-the-Seated. Our tumbling unit skills include headstands, handstands, cartwheels, bridges/walkovers, and pyramids.
