Learning in 2018

We take great pride in the Rohan Woods students’ ability to use technology to seek information.  The students are skilled in the use of iPads, Chromebooks and laptops.  While these skills are so important, we also recognize the importance of knowing how to use all resources to find information.  This includes the use of a dictionary.  Using a dictionary requires many skills that adults take for granted including: alphabetizing, scanning for text, problem solving, understanding of word roots, and using what you know to find more information.  Students work together to quickly find vocabulary words related to our current literature unit.

In Math, the Fifth Graders are working with fractions, decimals and percents.  The Sixth Graders are working on finding the area of triangles, parallelograms and trapezoids.  Students work on problem solving strategies every day.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Broll
