The Junior Kindergarten has been investigating and exploring during the first month of school. During project with the Seniors students have been building their observation skills. In addition, they worked on recording observations in a variety of ways. The garden has been the perfect place to find new and different objects to collect and explore.
We are settled into a new classroom and routines. The Juniors are working in centers and small groups daily. We are busy with Language Arts centers that focus on letter recognition and phonetic awareness. Math explorations involve matching and sorting, and numbers from 0-10.
One of the favorite times of the day is morning meeting and share. During this time we complete calendar math and share about our theme, All About Me. I love hearing about the classes favorite games, food, and seasons.
We also had lots excitement this week including a visit from Fred Bird!
