February PE

This month we will focus on new games, basketball, and core & upper body strength. We begin the first week of February with Game Week! Classes will learn one or two new games each day.

The excitement is already brewing for games that require brain power as well as teamwork, running, throwing, dribbling and catching skills. Favorites so far are Barnyard (evasive running), Battleship (throwing, rolling, scootering), and Back-to-Back (core). 

Our older students are in basketball season. We'll play during Lunch League and in after school sports. The teams are focusing on a 3-out, 2-in motion offense and a 2-3 defense. The focus skill of the month is rebounding. All students are being challenged to use their speed and agility to anticipate, and get to, all rebounds and loose balls.
