Love is in the air!! In the Early Childhood room, we have been talking all about who we love, what love looks like and how we can show love. Read on to find out what they think.
This week in the EC room we have been talking all about Valentine’s Day! The EC students talked about who they love, some of who the EC students loved are: mom and dad, siblings, their cat, and grandmas and grandpas. They listened to lots of fun Valentine’s Day stories such as Guess How Much I Love You which was about a bunny trying to come up with distances that he loves his dad. I Love You, Stinky Face is about a little boy who’s about to go to bed but he has a question. He asks his mom if he was an ape would she still love him and she tells him that she would. The little boys comes up with other things he might be and asks his mom if she’d still love him. They were all fun valentines books but everyone’s favorite book was Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse! It was about the mouse from the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie books and
how he loves all his friends for different reasons.
During group we talked about why we love different people for different reasons and how no matter how much love you give, you always have more. We talked about what love looks like and there were many different answers: a cookie, a movie, snuggles, hugs and kisses, a big, happy smile, reading books together, and ice cream with mom. There were several snuggling answers and several reading books together answers. I like that there were many different answers as to what love looks like. When we talked about how you can show love, everyone had fun thinking about ways to show people we love that we love them. Some ideas were: drawing a picture, giving hugs and kisses, and saying I love you. It was so much fun to hear everyones ideas about love and what it means to them. We had a fun party on Friday and ate valentines donuts and passed out valentines, it was a good day!
Our letters this week were O and P. Some of the items brought in were an octopus, orange, octagon, oval, penny, paper, purple, and pink pencil. Next weeks letter is Q. Everyone is doing a great job with their letters. It is so much fun to see what comes to school in the letter bag when it goes home.
Have a good weekend!
